Privacy Policy

Postory ("we", "us", or "our") is a photo editing app that helps you turn photos and Live Photos into shareable story cards. This policy explains what data stays on your device, what limited data may be sent to our services, and how third-party services help us operate the app.

Your original photos, Live Photo paired videos, local file paths, and raw EXIF GPS coordinates are processed on your device and are not uploaded to Postory servers. We request photo library access so you can choose media, and photo library add access so you can save exports back to your library.

When AI captions are available and you use them, Postory sends derived, non-photo inputs to our caption service: color analysis, on-device scene or semantic labels, broad layout hints, language, month/year style date text, and optional location text if the app has produced one. If you have edited AI captions before, recent edited titles or captions may be sent as style examples. We do not send the original photo, video, local file path, or raw EXIF coordinates for AI caption generation.

Postory uses PostHog for privacy-conscious product analytics. We collect interaction events such as app opens, screen views, photo selection status, style selection, export success or failure, and purchase flow status. Analytics events do not include photo files, local file paths, generated captions, typed text, or raw EXIF data.

Postory uses RevenueCat to manage in-app purchases through the Apple App Store. RevenueCat may process purchase history, entitlement status, product identifiers, and app user identifiers needed to unlock paid features and restore purchases. Purchases are ultimately processed by Apple.

We use Sentry for crash reporting and diagnostics so we can improve stability. Crash reports may include device type, OS version, app version, stack traces, performance information, and app state around the crash. They are not intended to include your photos, videos, captions, or raw EXIF location data.

Postory stores preferences, recent creation history, AI caption quota state, purchase entitlement cache, and caption edit history locally on your device. This local data helps the app remember your settings and improve future caption style suggestions. You can remove it by deleting the app from your device.

We do not sell personal data. We do not use third-party advertising tracking. We do not upload your original photo or video files for editing, color extraction, Live Photo export, or analytics.

Postory uses these services to operate the app:

• RevenueCat and Apple App Store for in-app purchases
• Sentry for crash reporting and diagnostics

Postory is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected in app updates or in the app-provided privacy policy.
